Monkey Cake

12 Jan

There is nothing better then homemade treats made by your Grandmother. My Grandmother is 90 years old and is one of most amazing women I know (the other one is my mother)! Right now she is enjoying in the sun in Florida at her beautiful condo on the Gulf. My husband and I were down there in December for a long weekend visit during the holidays.

When we arrived there was a beautiful freshly baked Monkey cake sitting there just waiting for us! In 3 days we were able to devour the whole thing! If you are looking for a great desert to share at a party or family gathering this is your dish!

Monkey Ball Cake

1/2 cup chopped Pecans
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 10-oz refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine ( 1 stick)

Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly in the bottom of a well-greased 10 inch Bundt pan. Set aside. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Cut biscuits into quarters; roll each piece into the sugar mixture and layer in pan. Combine brown sugar and butter; pour over dough.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Cool bread 10 minutes in pan, than invert onto serving platter.
Dig in and enjoy!

This looks delicious! Any recipe that has the directions “combine cinnamon and sugar” definitely gets an A+ in my book! 🙂
